Pharmaceuticals Department notifies revisions to sub-scheme ‘Revamped Pharmaceutical Technology Upgradation Assistance Scheme’: Increases incentive cap and simplifies application process for Pharma MSMEs

Department of Pharmaceuticals has notified modifications under the sub-scheme “Revamped Pharmaceutical Technology Upgradation Assistance Scheme”. This is pursuant to the deliberations held with the Industry representatives and after examination of the representations received in this regard.

Key Highlights:

  • Increase in cap for incentives-

The maximum incentive under the Revamped Pharmaceutical Technology Upgradation Assistance Scheme (RPTUAS) has been raised from Rs. 1 crore to Rs. 2 crore.

  • Increase in cap for release of subsidy-

50% of the eligible amount (subject to an upper limit of Rs. 1.00 crore) will be released as 1st installment within 30 days of obtaining requisite documents. An eligible amount (subject to total upper limit of Rs. 2.00 crore for each applicant) will be released as 2nd installment within 30 days of obtaining the requisite documents.

  • Shortlisting under the scheme by making an online application-

Pharma units will be required to apply online in the prescribed proforma for shortlisting under the scheme with a gap analysis of the existing manufacturing unit.
