The Ministry of Road, Transport and Highways has proposed the Draft Central Motor Vehicle (Amendment) Rules, 2023. Key Highlights:
- A new provision has been added under Section 125 C(4) of the Central Motor Vehicle Rules requiring vehicles manufactured on or after 1st January 2025 to be fitted with an air conditioning system for cabin of vehicles of N2 and N3 category.
- It further states that the testing of the cabin fitted with air-conditioning system must be as per IS14618:2022.
