The Ministry of Ayush has invited objections and suggestions on proposed amendments to Schedule I and II of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940 till 12th April, 2024. Schedule I currently comprises a list of Ayurvedic, Siddha or Unani drugs. The proposed amendment seeks to incorporate entries related to the Homeopathic and Sowa-Rigpa systems in the First Schedule.
Further, the draft amendment proposed to incorporate ‘French Homoeopathic Pharmacopoeia or the European Pharmacopeia’ to the Second Schedule (which outlines standards for imported drugs and those manufactured for sale, storage, exhibition or distribution).
Objections and suggestions to the draft amendment, if any, may be addressed to the Secretary, Ministry of Ayush, AYUSH Bhawan, ‘B’ Block, GPO Complex, INA, New Delhi – 110023 or emailed at dcc-ayush@nic.in.
