SEBI allows certifications through digital signature for any authentication / certification of any filing / submission under the LODR Regulations till 31st December, 2020

In a Circular dated 31st July, 2020, the Securities and Exchange Board of India (“SEBI”) has informed that the timeline for authentication / certification of any filing / submission made to stock exchanges under the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015 (“LODR Regulations”) using digital signature certifications has been extended till 31st December, 2020.

The Circular applies to filings / submissions made from 1st July, 2020. Stock Exchanges are advised to bring the provisions of this circular to the notice of all listed entities and also disseminate on their websites.

Background:

Previously, in a Circular dated 17th April, 2020 SEBI had permitted the use of digital signature certifications for authentication / certification of filings / submissions made under the LODR Regulations, to the Stock Exchanges, till 30th June, 2020.

Now, the said timeline is being extended till 31st December, 2020.
