DGFT prescribes procedure for online filing of requests for closure of Advance Authorisation

Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has issued a Trade Notice No. 35/2020-2021 dated 12th November, 2020 to inform that DGFT services for Advance Authorization (AA), Export Promotion Capital Goods (EPCG), Duty Free Import Authorisations (DFIA) and Norms will migrate to the new Online DGFT systems. The objective of introducing these revamped systems is to provide paperless, digital, efficient and transparent services to the exporters and importers, and to further the overall goal of Trade Facilitation and Digital India. The platform would be accessible through the existing website: https://dgft.gov.in.

Further, it is informed that the services for amendment of any Advance Authorization, EPCG or DFIA Licenses would be temporarily suspended from 12:00 PM on 20th November 2020 till 30th November 2020. The amendment of licenses includes cases of re-validation, invalidation, value enhancement, EO extension etc. Exporters/Importers are requested to plan their activities related to any license amendments accordingly. However, the services for new license issuance, or submission of any new application file would remain available throughout this period.

Exporters/Importers are also requested to complete the process of registration/linking of their IECs in on the DGFT website sufficiently well in advance, as this is a pre-requisite for filing online applications/claims in the new IT environment.
