Ministry of Commerce and Industry invites public comments on the Draft Static Pressure Vessels Amendment Rules, 2024 within 12.02.2025 ; revises renewal period of certain licenses from 5 to 10 years

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has notified the Draft Static and Mobile Pressure Vessels (Unfired) (Amendment) Rules , 2024 (“Draft Rules”) amending the Static and Mobile Pressure Vessels (Unfired) Rules, 2016. The notification proposes to amend the renewal period of licenses under these Rules from 5 years to 10 years.

The renewal period for the following licenses and forms has been extended from 5 years to ten years:

  1. Approval for fabrication of pressure vessels, vaporisers or fittings – Rule 4(3)(ii)
  2. License for storing and dispensing Auto LPG in Auto LPG Dispensing Station as Automotive Fuel to Motor Vehicles/ Form LS-1B: Rule 51(1), Rule 55(2)
  3. License for storing compressed gas in pressure vessels / Form LS-1A: Rule 51(1), Rule 55(2)
  4. License for transporting compressed gas in pressure vessels / Form-LS-2: and Rule 51(2), Rule 55(2)
  5. License for storing and dispensing Auto LNG in Auto LNG Dispensing Station as Automotive Fuel to Motor Vehicles / Form LS-1C: Rule 51(1), Rule 55(2)

The notification invites objections or suggestions from stakeholders, which can be submitted to the Deputy Secretary (Explosives) Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Room No. 204, Vanijya Bhavan, New Delhi – 110001 or can be emailed at: expl-dipp@nic.in within 12th February, 2025.
