Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) has issued Circular No. 14/2019 – Customs dated 3rd June, 2019 to introduce simplified procedure of auto registration for IEC holders on ICEGATE.
Key Points of the Circular are-
- IEC holders can now auto register themselves through ICEGATE based on the email ids provided by them for registration under GST.
- There will be no requirement on the part of IEC holder to provide digital signature for such auto registration until such IEC holder intends to file any declarations (BE, SB, eSeal manifest etc) with the customs.
- The IRN (Image reference number) of the documents pertaining to LPCOs (Licenses, Permits, Certificates and other Authorizations) uploaded by PGA’s (Participating government Agencies) will be made available to beneficiaries through the email ids used for ICEGATE registration.
- The registration of importers and exporters will enable them to avail direct access to information related to their consignments and get intimation about the status of their consignments and PDF copies of their declarations on their registered email ids.
- The option to reply to the queries raised by the custom officers including post clearance audit has been provided under the login of the IEC holders so as to dispense with the requirement of physically submitting the response to such queries at the service Centre.
