The Government of West Bengal has changed the dates for implementation of complete State-wide lockdown.

Pursuant to requests and appeals to relax lockdown in the State on dates coinciding with festivals and local community-based customs, the Government of West Bengal has made partial modifications to the earlier lockdown Order and notified that the State will be under complete lockdown on the following days –

Wednesday 5^th August; Saturday 8^th August; Thursday 20^th August; Friday 21^st August; Thursday 27^th August; Friday 28^th August and Monday 31^st August.

Background:

As per the earlier Order, State-wide complete lockdown was to be observed on Wednesday 5^th August; Saturday 8^th August; Sunday 16^th August; Monday 17^th August; Sunday 23^rd August; Saturday 24^th August and Monday 31^st August.

Therefore, while the lockdown on 5^th August, 8^th August and 31^st August have been retained, the 16^th August lockdown has been moved to 20^th August; 17^th August lockdown has been moved to 21^st August; lockdown on 23^rd August has been moved to 27^th August and the 24^th August lockdown has been moved to 28^th August.
