The Ministry of Labour and Employment has notified the that ESIC Insurance Number of insured persons will be linked with their Employee Provident Fund Organisation (“EPFO”) Universal Account Number (“UAN”) (a 12 digit number allocated by EPFO).
EPFO members holding bank and Aadhar details seeded against their UAN may submit their PF withdrawal / settlement / transfer requests.
Further, an employer may be able to enter the UAN of Insured Persons through the ESI portal. Once entered into the system, the same may be verified with EPFO. Therefore, employers are urged to enter the UAN of employees in the Insurance Module of the ESI Corporation for ease of access to various provisions of the Act.
