IRDAI directs Non-Life Insurers to collect and submit Rural Insurance data formats from FY 2017-18 by 31.03.2021; data for FY 2020-21 onwards to be sent to IIBI within 3 months of close of FY

To monitor the performance of Rural Insurance Business and support the development of policy and regulation for promoting Rural Insurance Business, the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (“IRDAI”) has, through a Circular dated 2nd March, 2021, directed all Non-life insurers (Except ECGC) to collect data as follows:

1 Rural_A Crop Insurance
2 Rural_B Livestock, Poultry, Aquaculture, Insects and other Animal Insurance
3 Rural_C Rural/Agricultural Property and Rural/Farmer’s Package Insurance
4 Rural_D Rural Health and Personal Accident Insurance

 

Also, they are required to submit the following:

  1. The last 3 FY Rural Insurance data in the prescribed formats (refer to the attachment) starting from FY 2017-18 on or before 31st March 2021.
  2. Rural Insurance data in prescribed format for each Financial Year starting with FY 2020-21 to IIBI on or before 3 months of closing of Financial year.
