Kerala State PCB issues instructions on Environmental Compliance Monitoring through Software based tool on Randomized Risk based inspections

The Kerala State Pollution Control Board has in a notification dated 30th November, 2020, mandated to design and implement a system for identifying establishments that needs to be inspected based on a computerised risk assessment and online submission of inspection report within 48 hours to the department with a view to enable ease of doing business.

 

The environmental compliance monitoring system is developed to keep a check on the Industries and Establishment operations within the desired standards and guidelines.

 

A software based tool is designed for compliance inspection under the Water (Prevention and control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air  (Prevention and control of Pollution) Act 1981. The high risk or the red category will be inspected once in every six months by the inspectors and the reports shall be submitted online within 48 hours to the concerned District Offices or Regional offices.
