Environment Ministry eliminates the requirement to publish details of supply/orders on the website of Genset and Genset Engine manufacturers

The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (“Ministry”) has modified the guidelines regarding supply of Genset and Genset engines and has decided that-

the requirement of publishing the details of the supply/purchase orders by the Genset and Genset Engine manufacturers and suppliers on the website of the concerned Genset and Genset Engine manufacturer before 31st July, 2023 has been done away with. The information has to be provided to the Central Pollution Control Board (“CPCB”) but need not be published on the website mandatorily.

Background:

The Ministry vide Order dated 22nd June, 2023 issued a set of guidelines with regard to Genset and Genset engines where the details of the supply purchase orders was required to be published on the website of the concerned Genset and Genset Engine manufacturer. However, it has been brought to the Ministry that disclosure of such information will be a violation/ breach to the confidentiality obligations. In view of this, the Ministry has decided to remove the requirement.
